World Barista Championship 2017

The WBC is coming to South Korea, where our Expobar ambassador from Philippines will be competing

After being hosted in Seattle and Dublin the last couple of years, Seoul, South Korea will be the home of the most important barista competition in the world. Crem International, is proud and happy that our Expobar Brand Ambassador from The Philippines – Mr. Silvestre Dan Samonte, will be competing in the WBC in Seoul this year! Mr. Samonte scored a 14^th place last year at the WBC in Dublin and is back stronger than ever.

The competition focuses on promoting excellence in coffee. It also aims to advance the barista profession and engage a worldwide audience with an annual championship event, which serves as the culmination of all barista events around the globe. Champions representing more than 60 nations in the world get to prepare espresso, milk drinks, and their own signature drinks to exacting standards set in a fifteen-minute performance. The top 12 competitors will proceed to the next round where the top 6 will be decided.

The winner will be chosen from the top six and will be named as the World Barista Champion.
